Tulip Time

One of the most exciting moments of Spring in New York is when the Park Avenue tulips begin to bloom. More than 60,000 bulbs are planted each November and Upper East Siders anxiously await to see what color will pop up each April.  This year they are yellow and seem to match the taxi cabs that zoom up and down the street.  The unseasonably warm temperatures had them in full peak last week just in time for Easter and Passover.  The tulips also have some colorful company in the form of ten sculptures by Venezuelan artist Rafael Barrios that have been installed on the Park Avenue mall between 51st and 68th Streets. Enjoy!
